The tulip incorporated into the Myopia Center of Texas logo honors someone who had a profound impact on my life. Growing up, I was raised by a hardworking single mother who did everything she could to provide for our family. When I needed braces as a child, the cost placed them out of reach. At that time, my aunt stepped in and covered the expense so I could receive the care I needed. It was a generous act that I have never forgotten.
My aunt’s name was Laleh, which means “tulip” in Farsi. The tulip has come to symbolize that moment of support and belief in my future.
She did far more than help me with that one moment. She taught me independence, instilled a strong sense of confidence in who I was, and later offered guidance and encouragement as I built my own practice.
In recent years, my aunt bravely battled cancer before passing away. Honoring her memory has become deeply important to me. As a mother myself now, I often reflect on the kindness she showed me and how one act of support can change what is possible for a child.
That reflection reshaped my vision for Myopia Center of Texas. While our practice provides highly specialized, certified myopia management, I have worked intentionally to structure our program in a way that makes this level of care more financially accessible to families. My goal is simple: to reduce cost-related barriers to treatment without lowering the standard of care.
The tulip woven into our brand honors Laleh — a reminder that compassion can change a child’s future, and that her kindness continues to inspire the care we provide to families every day.
